The Black Barn

A modern Take on the traditional barn house, the Black Barn is admired locally and via national media for its simple Scandi influenced design and bespoke features including full oak frame.  

Post & Beam were engaged alongside KAST Architects and Norsk building to develop, design and construct the house for clients Matt and Sally. As well as the striking Oak Scissor trusses through the main living space, Post & Beam provided the full insulated timber cassette wrap. The Oak Trusses and timber frame wrap work in unison as a structural hybrid to allow minimal structural timber visible yet maintain vast open living spaces. This format has now been used for several other projects currently at various stages from concept to completion.
