Tremenheere Gallery

The Tremenheere Gallery is one of our Flagship projects, utilising progressive timber engineering and construction in the whole build.

It is the largest purpose built gallery in Cornwall since the Tate St Ives and now the home of the Newlyn Society of Artists as well as welcoming internationally renowned Artists exhibiting year round.

Since the opening exhibition in January 2017 the gallery has welcomed hundreds of visitors and been a proven success. The design and working core of the building are equally as special –  the first of a kind incorporating timber based products throughout every aspect of the structure.

The full Oak Frame is exposed internally and is wrapped with solid timber panels (8metres x 3 metres) which as well as stabilising the Oak Frame act as a carrier for the wood fibre insulation and the local external Larch timber cladding – this building is about as wooden as it gets and is the first of a kind –  a pioneer in timber engineering.

Above the ground there are no plastics, no plaster board or plaster and no hazardous chemical emitting insulations or concrete blocks. Just traceable timber products locking up CO₂ for years to come!
